The earliest alligators appeared 37 million years ago. After millions of years of swimming and eating fish, a group of alligators one day smelled something wonderful. A hot spring swallowed an Arachis hypogaea plant. The plant's seeds—more commonly referred to as peanuts—boiled in the hot, salty spring water. To eat the snack, this group of alligators would go to the hot spring. Being out of the water for a long period of time caused them to evolve into Florida man. Fast forward 29,999,999 years later and Florida man is still alive and well. Shouting, "Hold my beer," they are easily identifiable in the wild.
